OUR PRO-SOCIAL PROJECT
Each year the students and staff of Kennedy Elementary and the GNA Elementary Center sponsor a Pro-Social project for the school year. Our previous projects have included Bucks for Books (Mill Memorial Library), Pennies for Pines, Donations for Defibrillators, Rise up for Risers, Bucks for Books II, and Greens for Guides.
Our Pro-Social Project this year will be Bucks for Broadcasting. When the Elementary Center was built brackets to hold televisions were placed in each classroom. The televisions were not part of the building project. We have brackets without televisions. The students do morning announcements over the intercom each morning. With the system we have in the Elementary Center library, we would be able to broadcast morning announcements on the televisions in the Elementary Center classrooms.
The district has agreed to purchase 6 televisions to start the project. Each television costs approximately $200.
2007-2008
DOLLARS AGAINST DRUGS
Dollars against Drugs will be launched on Friday, October 12 and continue every Friday through the end of April. We ask students to bring in any spare change on Fridays to donate to this project. Each Friday during opening exercises, our Safety Patrol members will visit each room with their containers to collect the money. At the Halloween parade, Safety Patrol members will also accept donations from our parade spectators. Look for the students holding cans to accept your donations as you exit the auditorium.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

"Greens For Guides" 2005-2006
Greens for Guides is a program at the GNA Elementary Center that collects money
to off set someof the cost for training a dog for the Leader Dog program. Total cost to train a Leader Dog
from a pup to anadult trained dog is approximately $35,000.00
The Leader Dog program is sponsored by the Lions Club. It is located in
Rochester, Michigan. The service is provided, at no expense, to a
visually challenged person or unsighted person. The dogs are picked
for the Leader Dog Program as pups. The pups spend one year living with a
family and then are introduced into the Leader Dog Program. If the dog
qualifies for the program, they are matched with a client.

"Bucks for Books" 2004-2005
Bucks for Books is our Pro-Social Project this year. Every Friday, Safety Patrol students collected money brought in by the students and staff. We collected until May. The money will be presented to the
Mill Memorial Library in Nanticoke.

"Donations for Defibrillator"2001-2002

In 2001-2002 our Pro-Social Project was Donations for Defibrillator. The defibrillator was received during the
summer. The defibrillators were installed in each school.
In Kennedy, the defibrillator is located in the hallway
(across from the office) on the right as you enter the
school. In Lincoln, the defibrillator is located on the
first floor outside the office on the wall near the girls'
lavatory. Thank you to everyone who donated!
"Money for Music" 2003-2004
Here we raised money to help the instrumental
music program. Donations took two forms.
You wereable to donate any unused, working
instruments which were no longer being used. We had
them cleaned. We accepted money to help refurbish
donated instruments and to purchase new ones.
The new instruments belong to the school.
We did not set a monetary goal for this project.
The drive continued every Friday through May.
.We asked students to bring in any spare change
on Fridays to donate to this project.
Each Friday during opening exercises, our Safety
Patrol members visited each room with their containers
to collect the money. Thank you for your musical support!
